Le Printemps des Champagnes - Vignerons not to be missed (second part)

After having explored in the first part of our article (you can read it HERE) some of the Vignerons present at Le Printemps des Champagnes who have caught our attention, we are ready to reveal the other names which, in our opinion, deserve a particular mention. In this second part, we will guide you to discover five other producers who, with their vision and savoir-faire, contribute to enriching the oenological heritage of the Region, offering new sensorial experiences that deserve to be known and exalted.

Let's find out together who they are and why it's worth keeping an eye on them.

Waris Larmandier

Since the three brothers Jean-Philippe, Pierre-Louis and Inès took over the management of the family Domaine, the Waris Larmandier Champagnes have rediscovered their distinctive and original personality. The brothers, in fact, have introduced a breath of modernity in production and winemaking choices, including organic and biodynamic viticulture techniques. Waris Larmandier Champagnes stand out for their elegance, liveliness and purity, an expression of the exclusive character of the terroir of the Grand Cru of Avize, in the Côte des Blancs. We tasted the Champagne Ses Arts, 100% Chardonnay and the Champagne Racines de Trois, a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier. Pulp, crunchiness and creaminess, these Champagnes leave a sensation of pleasure and satisfaction that lasts until the last sip.pierre_brocard_glugulp-1.jpg

Pierre Brocard

Thibaud Brocard, the latest generation to manage the Pierre Brocard family Domaine, ranks among the best known Vignerons in Celles-sur-Ource, in the Côte des Bar. Clear ideas and an experimental spirit are Thibaud's approach in the cellar, who wants to create Champagnes free to express themselves in all their identity, and which stand out for their harmony, balance and freshness. The vinifications are done in parcels and almost always from a single vine, with fermentations in both steel and wood, long periods on the yeasts and the addition of low dosages. For the first time we tried Champagne L'égarée, a parcel blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, vinified in fût de chêne with two years of aging and no final dosage. An inviting Champagne, easy to drink, which pushes to discover the entire range of Thibaud Champagnes.

Legrand Latour

Easily recognizable for their names that recall geological eras and for the labels that portray fossils and sediments, Legrand Latour Champagnes are perhaps one of the most striking examples of celebration of the terroir of the Vallée de la Marne and Champagne in general. Patrice Legrand, Thibault's father who now leads the company, is passionate about geology and created the aging cellar in the famous "Cave aux Coquillages" in Fleury-la-Rivière. The shell cellar is an underground archaeological museum resulting from 30 years of excavations, which have brought to light fossil finds from the Cretaceous and Paleocene periods, geological eras dating back to 95-20 million years ago. Among his Champagnes, Champagne Yprésien always fascinates us with its savory verticality, the result of the marine soil in which the roots of the vineyards sink. We then also tried the Champagne Turbidité. We leave to you the pleasure of sharing your impressions...

Emmanuel Brochet

Emmanuel Brochet needs no introduction, the exclusivity of his bottles precedes his fame. It was 1997 when he took over the 2.5 hectares of land in Villers-aux-Noeuds, in the Montagne de Reims, from his father, becoming the family's first winemaker. Right from the start, Emmanuel converted the vineyards to organic farming, making courageous choices that led him to become one of the most illustrious figures in Champagne. Emmanuel Brochet is synonymous with savoir-faire, craftsmanship, uncompromising passion. His Champagnes are the perfect combination of technique and emotion, a constant search for harmony between nature and human work. Production is limited and exclusive depending on the vintages and on his creativity and inspiration. We tasted the Champagne Extra Brut, a blend of Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and were impressed at every tasting. Some bottles of his Champagne Rosé de Saignée are still available on our online shop. We advise you to hurry before they run out!la_pucelle_perseval_farge_champagne-1.jpg

Perseval Farge

Isabelle Perseval is the driving force behind Perseval Farge, and if you have the opportunity to meet her, you will realize that her grace and charisma are directly proportional to the character of her Champagnes, intense, complex and at the same time balanced. The Domaine has 4 hectares of vineyards divided into 6 different distinct lieux-dits, all located in Chamery, Premier Cru in the Montagne de Reims, managed with an integrated viticulture approach. The vinification takes place in wooden barrels, with blends that include vin de réserve, followed by a long aging on the yeasts for the sans année. We tried some of his parcel Champagnes, including Champagne Les Spectres, Blanc de Blancs made with Chardonnay grapes, and Champagne La Pucelle, 100% Pinot Noir. Champagne of great charm and elegance.
